Aselo Forms: Configuration Guide

Introduction

Welcome to the Aselo Forms Configuration Guide! This guide will walk you through the process of configuring Aselo forms to suit your needs. Let's get started:

 Granting Permissions

  1. Accessing Permissions: Go to the Aselo menu and select 'Perform Checks.'
  2. Authorization: If prompted, authorize the template to run application scripts by clicking 'OK' and choosing your account.
  3. Security Note: While the application lacks Google verification, it's secure for use within this template.
  4. Advance Settings: Click 'Advanced' and navigate to the Json generator to grant necessary permissions.

Working with the Templates

1. Field Configuration Overview

  1. Layout Overview: A screenshot of a typical contact form layout is displayed on the right side.
  2. Configuring Fields: Required fields can be configured on the left side on Columns A,B and C. 
    • Column A - Field Labels: These are the labels that will appear in the form.
    • Column B - Field Type: You can select the type of field that is appropriate.
    • Column C - Required: You can check which fields are mandatory.
    • Column D - PII: Mark which fields you consider PII, these fields will not be sent to the data warehouse.
    • Column E - Field Name: An autogenerated field name, this name will be used to store the field value on the data base.

2. Field Types

  • Input: For entering text like names or addresses.
  • Select: Creating dropdown menus for single selections like 'Male' or 'Female' for gender.
  • Multi Select: Enabling users to choose multiple options from a list.
  • Checkbox: Perfect for yes/no choices or single-option selections.
  • Mixed Checkbox: Includes a third state (crossed check) for more nuanced options.
  • Text Area: Provides a larger input space for longer messages or paragraphs.
  • Date: Specifically for selecting dates, providing a calendar or date picker.
  • Dependent Select: Dynamic fields adjusting options based on a previous selection.

3. Aselo Menu

  • Generate Sheets: The system will generate sheets for every Select and Dependent Select fields. It will skip any existing sheet.
  • Perform Checks: The system will perform checks to make sure that the forms are well configured. When all checks have passed it means that the form is ready for review.
  • Generate JSON: Usually run by an Aselo staff member. It will generate the JSON object needed to add it on the account configurations.

4. Working with Sheets

  • Selects: Fill in values starting from cell A2, keeping A1 empty. Just column A with values is expected.
  • Dependent Selects: Create a column per each field and add appropriate values. Make sure that the values added are consistent with the dependencies and that the header of each column matches the field names.
